It’s always been a privilege for me to hear others’ stories and have them trust me with the vulnerable parts of themselves. My clients tend to appreciate my warm, down-to-earth approach that is both affirming and non-judgmental. Life can be hard and complicated, and sometimes it helps to have someone to walk with you through those difficulties. I’ve found that my child and teenage clients really enjoy having someone who they can be real with and open up to.
I’m a native of Tennessee, but I now live in Colorado. I have a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary, and the bulk of my professional experience has been working with kids, adolescents, and families.
I’d love to connect with you and support you in your journey!
We all need a safe space to sort through difficult thoughts and emotions. I work well with kids, teens, and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, trauma, anger, family conflict, behavior concerns, relationship issues, and Christian spirituality.
I have worked as a teen suicide prevention therapy specialist; I am trained in EMDR; and I am fluent in Spanish.
It's important to find the right fit in a counselor, and if I am not the right fit for you, I will happily seek to connect you with a colleague of mine who I think would work well with you. I provide free consultations to allow you to get to know me and how I may be able to support you.
The expression “extending an olive branch” represents the act of seeking peace and offering friendship to another person. Sometimes we need to make peace with another person, and sometimes we need to make peace with ourselves—to offer grace, understanding, and compassion to ourselves. This is so valuable for those who battle shame and trauma.
